Soft Power is the artist's ongoing series that refers to nationalism, patriotism and current events through use of flags, stars, fabrics, food and mushroom clouds.

Soft Power is an ongoing series of drawings, photographs and sculptures that coincide with Melissa Vandenberg's Middleland Project.

The initial Soft Power exhibit was hosted at Halcyon Contemporary Art Gallery, Terre Haute, Indiana, May 2009.

It gained its title from the internal references to nationalism, patriotism and current events through a use of flags, stars, fabrics, food and mushroom clouds.
